The 9th episode of Red Letter Media's Trivia series is a look back at their own show, Best of the Worst.

Jay refered to this episode as "Can You Remember Anything: Best of the Worst Edition".

It's time again for another exciting game of trivia! This time, it's Mike vs. Rich in a sad attempt to remember anything from their own past. It's Best of the Worst Trivia! Who will win? Who will remember stuff? How much will they remember? How much do you remember?!!!? Take a trip down memory lane with this exciting and depressing video on YouTube dot com.

Round 1: Plot Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Jay read off the plot of a film featured on Best of the Worst to each player sequentially. If the player answered incorrectly, their opponent was offered a chance to "steal". Each correct answer was worth 100 points.

  1. Starring four-time US Gymnastics Federation champion Kurt Thomas, this film is about an American gymnast who travels to a foreign land to compete in a deadly game.

  2. Medical students are attacked by an aggressive labaratory animal while locked inside their campus medical building competing in an after-hours roleplaying game similar to Dungeons and Dragons.
  3. In this made-for-TV sequel to a holiday classic, a supporting character from that classic film has been promoted to the lead character.
  4. A man finds a mysterious bottle while investigating an auto accident. When he takes the bottle home, he discovers it contains a tiny demon who haunts his dreams.
  5. A genetically engineered cat gets onboard a yacht and begins a killing spree.

  7. A perpetually sweaty Billy Blanks teams up with Rowdy Roddy Piper to rescue Blanks's sister from the clutches of a mobster and his gang.

  9. An astronaut is transformed into a murderous gelatinous mass after returning from an ill-fated space voyage.
  10. A cop's wife is killed by a satanic cult. After being fired he discovers that his corrupt boss is the head of the satanic cult.

At the end of round one, Mike amassed 400 points while Rich had 200.

Round 2: Can You Remember Anything?[edit | edit source]

Jay read a title from a film shown on Best of the Worst. Players were tasked with buzzing in and describing anything that happened in the film. Correct answers awarded 200 points.

At the end of round two, Rich still tailed Mike by 200 points, with Mike at 1600 and Rich at 1400.

The Neil Breen Bonus Round[edit | edit source]

Jay read off Neil Breen trivia. Contestents could buzz in and correctly identify the movie for 500 extra points. Incorrect answers subtracted 500 points.

  1. In which Neil Breen film does Neil Breen take over a television station, make the corrupt news anchors disappear from existence, then announce that he's eliminated 300 million humans from the planet?
  2. In the epic climax of which Neil Breen film does Breen's character convince a comical amount of politicians to just kill themselves?
  3. In both Twisted Pair and Cade: The Tortured Crossing, Neil Breen plays two brothers that may or may not be aliens and/or AI creations, or something. What are the names of the two brothers?

After the shake-up, Mike landed at 1100 points while Rich had 1900.

Jay either reads a scene synopsis, or plays an audio clip. Players must buzz in and correctly identify the film. Correct answers awarded 500 points.

As a RLM Trivia tradition, the players wagered points for the final essay question.

In 2018, we shot an episode entirely on VHS as a gimmick. On that episode, we watched 4 different films. Name one of the films we discussed on our VHS episode.

Rich evans won with 6900 points. Mike lost with 0 points.

Themes[edit | edit source]

Mike's podium has the face of Roger Corman. Rich's features the face of Neil Breen.

When Jay stutters while trying to say the phrase "The Shimmy Slide", Mike asks him "Who has dementia?", in the same vein, Mike later says "Where am I?" at the end of the episode.
