Declaring something "The Last"

Common among the usual cynicism of Red Letter Media is prematurely declaring something “the last”. This can either be something cultural where the item is symbolically “the last” thing in its class, or it can be a joke that one of their episodes will be “the last” in a series despite no intention to stop the series.

Several episodes of Best of the Worst are referred to as “the final” episode, usually on a whim as a joke.

When The Wheel of the Worst is destroyed accidentally, it is common to joke that the episode is “the final Wheel of the Worst episode” at the beginning of the discussion.

• Oppenheimer and The Hollywood Implosion: Jay refers to Oppenheimer as “the last movie” as a part of the ongoing theory that internet streaming will completely take over film releases, and films of this caliber will not be popular enough to justify big budget releases.
