It is worth noting that the Best of the Worst award is incredibly dependent on the “contestants” for a given episode. Many panelists have mentioned in the past that movies like ''Miami Connection'' swept the competition despite enjoyable showings from the other films that night,{{Which episode}} so winning is not a guarantee of quality.

Uncommonly, some films featured on ''Best of the Worst'' are considered so bad that they are slated for “destruction”.

The method of destruction can vary from video to video: earlier videos took a literal meaning of destruction and would [[destroyed objects#Best of the Worst losers|physically break the tape or DVD]], while later episodes would include short sketches where the tape is humiliated in some way.
