Star Wars News!!!]]: While the electrocution and sparks from the Darth Vader toaster are computer generated effects, and the smoke is generated on purpose, the toaster itself is physically damaged by being duct taped shut. Utensils are damaged and—in turn—damage the toaster when they are jammed into the device, and a Sith Trooper figurine is bashed against it to stop the smoke. Finally, Rich Evans tears an autographed poster into shreds, stuffing it into the mechanism to shut it down completely.
